Baking soda has been my tried and true remover of white burn marks on my wooden table for years.
Black burn mark on wooden table. Luckily it was solid oak. I sanded it down until the black was gone just in the burn spot then sanded the entire table top. Dab an inconspicuous place on a leg or underside of the table with a cotton swab soaked in lacquer thinner and touch the finish while its still wet.
Heres a method to try on lacquered wooden surfaces only. Iron oxide stains in wood are usually dark spots caused by prolonged exposure to water and or metal. Once stain disappears neutralize wood with borax diluted in water or bicarbonate of soda in water.
Try 5 min increments 5 on wipe off 10 on wipe off until the stain starts to disappear. Burn marks happen on wooden furniture for a variety of reasons. It could have been the result of a hot curling iron a hot pot or a cigarette among others.
If you have a black water stain kind of situation a black water stain is one that occurs when the water has seeped beyond the finish and into the wood bleaching using commercial bleach like the Liberon WB125 Wood Bleacher or applying toothpaste can be the best solutions. If the table is solid wood you can remove it. Do not make the paste too watery or you will then end up with a water stain.
The grittiness of the baking soda works to remove the stain so you can check. You set the hot dish on your wooden table and enjoy your meal leaving behind a nasty heat ring. Firstly sand away the top layers of the worktop to remove the finish then continue to sand until the black stain has been removed.
You can sparingly apply with a small nylon artists brush. Rub gently over the stain until the paste feels warm. Although the repair is not overly difficult it will take care to do and can be a little time consuming.
If its sticky its lacquer. Then the table is ready for refinishing. Or maybe your loved ones have been clumsy and dropped burning objects such as candles cigarettes or matches onto the table.
Burn marks on your table can be removed without much fuss. There is a way to fix the burn mark yourself. I burned a huge ugly black circle onto the center of my kitchen table.
Wood can intentionally be stained black in the same way and thats called Ebonizing. Use 1 finger or a spoon if you prefer to mix the 2 ingredients together until they form a thick paste. These spots require the surface to be sanded and refinished in order to totally remove them.

If it is a light colored table like pine or something to that effect and you got a black burn markand you want it out You are going to have to sand down the table finish if it has a glossy finish on it to the wood and then sand into the wood until the burn is gone. If youre dealing with a burn on a dark wood surface the burn itself is most likely white in color. Whether the scorched heat marks were created by a hot cup of tea or a slight burn caused by a fallen candle incense stick or cigar they all look terribly unattractive.
Black spots are usually caused by water that has been left to sit on the surface and has penetrated the finish completely. To remove the burn mark combine about 1 tsp 03 g of baking soda and 18 teaspoon 062 mL of water in a small bowl. Replace color with dyes or pigment stains.
